'Anti-Jailbreak' iOS 4.3.4 Already Jailbroken?

The whole point of Apple's iOS 4.3.4 update was to put the kibosh on a serious iOS security defect that allowed hackers to jailbreak iPhones, iPads and iPod touches (as well as surreptitiously remote control them), but it seems the fix may have already yielded to hackers.

Sony Ericsson suffers loss after Japan's quake

Sony Ericsson has blamed the the Japanese earthquake for a 50m euro (£44m; $71m) loss during the three months to June.
The mobile phone maker said the quake last March had caused "supply chain constraints", which meant that about 1.5m phones were not ready for sale.
Smartphones now make up more than 70% of Sony Ericsson's total sales, up from just 40% at the end of last year.

The LG Cosmos Touch has arrived for U.S. Cellular in the form of the LG Attune. It's essentially the same phone but with a slightly different button layout and it comes in a red color scheme instead. 

Sony preps two oddly shaped tablets

A tablet computer doesn't have to look like a flat rectangle.
For its entry into the U.S. tablet market, Sony Electronics is forgoing that common design, popularized by Apple's iPad. The Japanese company's upcoming tablets look and feel more like folded magazines and a pair of sunglasses than the parade of rectangles on the market now.

Google 2Q results show company thriving under Page

Google Inc. CEO Larry Page's traditionally frosty relationship with Wall Street turned into a warm embrace Thursday after the Internet search leader released strong financial results for its latest quarter.
The results represented Page's first report card since he became CEO at the start of the second quarter in April, ending the decade-long reign of his mentor, Eric Schmidt.
